Benefit: Celebrate Namo Marici Bodhisattva’s Birthday! Marici Bodhisattva is well known  as a great protector, she has very strong mystic powers, she can shelter you from disasters, protect you from karmic creditors and/or debtors!  Come to practice Marici Bai Dou (The Prayer Offerings to the Mother of Dipper Stars) and celebrate her birthday and sincerely ask for her blessings and protections. This offering is to lengthen one’s life (i.e. after or before major surgery, illness) also serves to dispel the bad influence of Tai Sui (Jupiter Star). Its also for the purpose of removing bad karmas, and also removes obstacles.

Intro about Marici Bodhisattva:

In Vajrayana Buddhism, Marici Bodhisattva is an emanation of Vairocana Buddha. The ”self mastery of invisibility” is one of her great supernatural powers. She is part of the retinue of Indra and she always accompanies Surya, traveling in front of him at great speed.

In Taoism, Marici is called “Dou Mu Yuan Jun” (Mother of the Dipper Stars or Goddess of the Big Dipper). She is in charge of the Big Dipper Constellation, the Twenty-eight Mansions, Thirty-six Heavenly Spirits, Seventy-two Earthly Fiends, Sky Canopy, Surya, and Candradeva. She is in charge of all stars, ghosts, and gods, and she is therefore called ”Hair Star Lord.”

Intro about Bai Dou: (The Prayer Offerings 禮斗/拜斗 to the Dipper Stars)     
The so-called “Bai Dou or Li Dou” (拜斗/禮斗） is a special Taoist ritual worshipping the dipper stars. The ritual  offering to Nothern Dipper Stars had already been practiced during the era of the Three Kingdom where Zhu Ge Liang the well known war strategist, and metaphysician had used it to lengthen his life.

As Marici is the Mother of the Dipper Stars, practice Marici Bai Dou (The Prayer Offerings to the Mother of Dipper Stars) is to lengthen one’s life (i.e. after or before major surgery, illness) also serves to dispel the bad influence of Tai Sui (Jupiter Star). Its also for the purpose of removing bad karmas, and also removes obstacles.

Bai Dou Seminar does not collect registration forms, you could order a personal offering bucket  (personal lamp 個人斗燈, $69 each), or join the public offering bucket ($50 per registration plaque).
